Sustainability at OEM Motor
OEM Motor offers products for mechanical motion and power transmission – solutions that help create a more sustainable industry. We take responsibility for ensuring that our products, our way of working, and our collaborations develop in a direction that benefits both people and the environment. We continuously strive to improve our sustainability efforts, with the foundation of always complying with applicable legislation.
OEM Motor is certified according to ISO 14001, and since 2018, we have been quantifying our climate footprint in CO2 equivalents wherever possible. Since 2020, we have been reporting according to the GHG protocol. Based on this information, we set goals and implement actions to minimize our environmental impact.
Sustainability Story 2025 – a clearer direction for the future
OEM Motor works with sustainability in a long-term and business-integrated way. Our Sustainability Story for 2025 summarises the year’s work, our key insights and the direction that will guide our continued efforts.
During the year we strengthened our internal structure and ways of working, developed our dialogue with suppliers and increased internal knowledge on sustainability topics. The analysis also clearly showed that our largest climate impact lies in Scope 3 – particularly related to transport.
For 2026 we are therefore moving towards a more focused approach, where sustainability is more clearly integrated into business decisions and everyday processes. We see sustainability as a continuous development process where transparency about both progress and challenges is essential for long-term improvement.
Sustainability story 2025
Sustainability work within the OEM Group
At the end of 2020, the executive management team at the parent company decided to launch development programmes in sustainability to more clearly define and structure the Group’s sustainability work. A sustainability group was established, consisting of representatives from the largest companies and markets to ensure broad participation.
The first step in this work was conducting a stakeholder and materiality analysis at the Group level, creating the foundation for new overarching sustainability goals. These goals are linked to Agenda 2030 and several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Based on this framework, OEM Motor has developed its own goals and activity plans aligned with the Group’s overall sustainability ambitions.

Our sustainability work is based on three focus areas: Product, People and Planet – always with our vision at the centre: “Together we create a sustainable industry and shall be the obvious first choice for innovative solutions.”
What is important to us?
An essential part of sustainability work is the dialogue with the group's stakeholders, which includes customers, suppliers, employees, and owners. To find out what is important to them, a survey was sent out, touching on various sustainability issues based on the 17 global goals from Agenda 2030. The responses from the stakeholder dialogue were compiled to create a clear picture of which of the Global Goals each group believes OEM should prioritize.Materiality Analysis
The results from the stakeholder analysis, combined with what is significant and possible to influence for the OEM Group, form the basis for the sustainability group's proposal on OEM's most material sustainability issues. Through the materiality analysis, we identified four priority areas that cover all three aspects of sustainability:- Environmental responsibility

Sustainability is a natural part of everyday work at OEM Motor. We continuously strive to increase our knowledge and drive development together with our suppliers – to help our customers make informed and responsible choices. We care about ensuring that employees thrive and grow, both within our own organisation and among our suppliers. Below, we briefly outline some of the activities connected to our sustainability and quality work.
Product – Smart and Sustainable Solutions
OEM Motor offers products and solutions for mechanical motion and power transmission – from motors and gearboxes to linear products, transmissions, and drive electronics. Through our technical expertise and close collaboration with both customers and manufacturers, we take responsibility for driving the development towards a more sustainable industry.We help our customers choose energy-efficient and reliable products that reduce environmental impact and contribute to long-term sustainable operation. Our ambition is to consider the entire product lifecycle – from manufacturing and use to recycling and reuse – and to continuously increase the share of products with documented sustainability benefits.
With strong product and application knowledge among our employees, we strive to offer product solutions with reduced environmental impact. This includes aspects such as lifespan, material selection, and energy efficiency. In our marketing communication, we highlight sustainable alternatives to traditional components and materials. Of course, we also collect, document, and follow up information related to:

Circular Economy
The manufacturing of our products requires raw materials that often have a significant environmental footprint. To reduce resource consumption and ensure long-term availability, we work strategically towards a more circular value chain. We collaborate with our manufacturers to increase the use of recycled and renewable materials, and to develop products that are easier to maintain, repair, and recycle. Through our technical guidance, we help customers make sustainable choices that contribute to a more circular industrial production.Materials and Chemicals
We set clear requirements for our products to be manufactured in a sustainable manner. This means that we actively monitor chemical content and ensure compliance with regulations such as REACH, RoHS, and SCIP. Our goal is to minimise the presence of hazardous substances – both to protect human health and to enable recycling of materials at the end of a product’s life. We continuously document and follow up information from our manufacturers to ensure transparency throughout the entire value chain.Supply Chain
OEM Motor works with carefully selected suppliers who are leaders within their respective technical fields. Our partnerships are long-term and built on open dialogue, trust, and shared sustainability goals. All suppliers are expected to sign our Code of Conduct or have an equivalent policy that meets our requirements. In case of suspected deficiencies, an action plan is jointly established. For new partnerships, we visit manufacturers on-site to ensure good working conditions and responsible production.
People – Commitment, Care and Development
Our success is built on engaged employees. At OEM Motor, everyone should have the right conditions to thrive, develop, and feel involved in the company’s success. Work Environment and Safety
We conduct systematic work environment management based on risk assessments, safety inspections, and close cooperation between employees and management. Procedures are in place to handle accidents and emergency situations, and we work proactively with health, ergonomics, and well-being in everyday life.
Planet – Reduced Climate Impact and Resource Efficiency
Reducing our climate impact is a central part of our sustainability work. We monitor and report our CO₂ emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol, and our goal is to halve our emissions every ten years.Transport is a significant source of emissions, and we prioritise sea and rail transport over air freight. Through collaboration with our logistics partners and more efficient planning, we reduce the environmental impact of our deliveries.
We also optimise our sales organisation to carry out more customer visits per travel day, thereby reducing the total number of trips.
We continuously work to improve energy efficiency in our facilities and use renewable energy wherever possible. In the long term, our goal is to equip all our buildings with solar panels where technically and economically feasible.

Waste and Resources
We actively work to reduce waste and scrap in our operations. Whenever possible, materials should be reused or recycled. By digitising our processes and marketing materials, we reduce both paper consumption and the number of physical mailings.Biodiversity
OEM Motor’s direct impact on biodiversity is considered limited. However, we are aware that some of the raw materials used in our products originate from mining and petrochemical processes.
